I have been reading of social media marketing often but I would like to know if anybody has actually achieved some good results in selling hotelsand which social networks work, there are many out there! I have tried myself but so far I can only suggest linkedin as something worth considering though, even in this case, the efforts required to keep on with it and build fruitful relationships could be better spent building other marketing channels.

I totally agree with Bill. I teach a lot about marketing on the web and using social media in my area to realtors and one of the MAJOR rules I give is that the "Hard Sell is Over". People will "unfriend" you or unfollow you if you are hard selling and that is not what they are looking for.
