More and more people are using the web nowadays, not only for research, but to find better deals than regular brick and mortar shops. According to NAR’s 2010 Profile of Buyers and Sellers, the majority of buyers are looking online first for their homes and real estate agents especially, need to build a strong online presence to capture that first interest.
Real estate agents’ roles are-a-changin! It’s more instance of ride the wave of change or go under. Whether you think it should be this way or not doesn’t matter.
Online presence is becoming even more important. That includes us AND the properties we are marketing. Does a listing with mediocre photos ( I am protecting the guilty here by not mentioning really bad photos or worse, NO photos) and little information available stand a chance?
Hey I hate to break the news, but this was all true, even 8 years ago! It’s just that todays technology has given light to a fact that existed that long ago. Yes, the consumer now will probably buy a home they see, first, online. BUT WHO PUT IT THERE? The Realtor put it there. Thank God the Realtor communit is getting more and tech savvy every day.
I am a brand new realator and I went into knowing the market is really challenging at best , having said that , I must remind all readers that there has never been and never will be an industry that doent go thru change and challenging times. I keep hearing all about the consumer being able to find what they want by themselves , ok so less you have to do , so now market yourself more and keep yourself educated and keep it positive , we as realators have to understand our value to the consumer before we can expect them to understand it . Please post positive the last thing we need is negativity
Thank you
