What’s Your Sign?

While I was at the offices of the Greater Capital Area Association of REALTORS® in Rockville, Md., for the Homeownership Matters Bus Tour,  I was taken aback when I saw all of these signs available for real estate practitioners to purchase… mostly because they’re a bit of a twist on the usual “For Sale,” billboard.  Check out the sign that says, “I’m Gorgeous Inside,” or the “Honey… Stop the Car” sign.

Do you have a unique sign that works for you?  If so, what does it say?


  1. At 55 miles per hour in rural areas, the less on the a sign, the more noticable, memorable the better. You could have $100 invested in sign riders per sign…. when if you carry a large inventory of property listings, it can add up and is not worth it. Broker branding’s best sign is SOLD panel, screwed on the top shortly after listing the property.

  2. Andrew has a point BUT? The 55 mph is not valid considering the For Sale Sign (and riders) slow potential buyers down if for nothing else to see the Home/Property? The other good point (please do not forget the listing agent not just Broker) is BRANDING e.g., colors, Font, contact information, financing and features (whether at 55 or 5) can be done with proper tasteful signage. And Riders can be as low as $3 to $4 each (used sparingly) $12 to $16 and can be used on the next listing…..$$$$ averaging. SOLD is second after For Sale. Hate to use this one but, Donald Trump was asked, “What do you attribute to your success?” Trump, “Advertising good or bad”.
